Cosmetic Smile Designs – Experience & Detail

Dr. Wise has helped patients enhance their smiles for over 40 years. His technique combines careful planning using photographs, study models and a consultation with a master ceramist from our dental laboratory. Most importantly, Dr. Wise will spend time with you to review smile examples and talk about the shade, shape and overall result that you want to achieve with your smile makeover.

Cosmetic Dentistry – The Beauty of Porcelain

Porcelain is the artists’ palette of dentistry: with virtually limitless opportunities to renew a smile, porcelain is available in a myriad of shades with a translucency value similar to natural teeth, offering both beauty and the strength of fired ceramics. In designing a restoration, Dr. Wise will instruct the dental laboratory to layer porcelain shades to specification for each tooth to create a glamorous result.

Porcelain Veneers are thin custom-molded facings that adhere to teeth to cosmetically enhance their appearance with smooth, highly polished porcelain. They require less tooth preparation than larger restorations, and can improve the appearance of teeth that are badly stained, slightly crooked, misshaped or under-sized.

Dr. Wise has recently completed courses for progressive methods of cosmetic dentistry including the Biolclear Matrix. Bioclear is a minimally invasive and cost effective treatment using clear forms which are filled with a composite material matched to the shade of the patient’s teeth. The forms are removed leaving behind a smooth contoured composite that has beautiful shine and is smooth to the touch. Bioclear treatment can be completed in a single visit. It is the perfect treatment for closing diastemas (the vertical gap in-between two teeth) and undersized laterals or peg laterals (where the tooth hasn’t grown to it’s full capacity, making the smile appear uneven).

Porcelain Crowns

Sometimes, teeth are too badly damaged or decayed to accommodate porcelain veneers or traditional fillings. In this case, the best solution is often a crown. All-Porcelain crowns and bridges are used to restore natural translucency and vibrancy to teeth, and have become the restoration of choice to replace aged crown and bridge work – no metal means no grayed edges!

“Instant” Orthodontics

Not really orthodontics at all, minor crowding, rotated and misaligned teeth can sometimes be improved aesthetically with porcelain crowns, veneers, or the use of the Bioclear Matrix creating the appearance of “straight” teeth.
